Nikki began her career as a licensed social worker in 2012. She has worked with children and families in DFPS custody in specialty children’s courts and family drug courts. Nikki participated in a national initiative out of Travis County to provide wrap-around trauma-informed services for families in crisis. Her passions include advocacy for systematic and policy changes that provide education and support services to families with children from hard places. Nikki is a certified Trust-Based Relational Intervention Practitioner, and has completed Dyadic Developmental Practice, Psychotherapy and Parenting (DDP) Level One Training, which allows her to use these PACE principles with Chosen’s parents.
Before joining Chosen, Nikki served as a supervisor for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) where she developed and implemented an agency-wide protocol for prioritizing case assignments to ensure families received services in a timely and efficient manner.
Nikki and her husband served as a fictive relative placement for two children with severe trauma and as respite providers for several additional foster children. They are in the process of adopting two children from foster care.
