Kim is passionate about engaging the church in the foster care crisis and equipping them to serve the needs of vulnerable children and families in their communities. Her role as State Engagement Director enables her to use this passion to connect families who are caring for hurting children with services that strengthen the family and help children heal.
Kim joined Chosen in 2021, bringing over 20 years of experience serving and advocating in the child welfare system. She practiced law for 15 years before moving over to the nonprofit sector as Executive Director of Mary Lee’s House, her community’s Child Protection and Advocacy Center. Currently, Kim serves as a Guardian Ad Litem, a leader in her church’s foster care ministry, and sits on several boards of nonprofits working in child welfare.
In 2020, Kim learned about Chosen while searching for needed services for foster families in her church. She is dedicated to ensuring that families who answer the call to foster or adopt are properly equipped and supported for success.
Kim has been married to her husband Steve since 1998 and they share three wonderful adult children. She enjoys being on the water in Florida and the mountains in North Carolina. In her spare time, Kim teaches yoga as a certified Christian yoga teacher and loves walks with her Goldendoodle.
