FOR OTHERS SELECTED CHOSEN AS A PARTNER

Learn How Chosen Helps Families Heal & Thrive

When For Others was looking for faith-based and community organization partners to serve Florida’s most vulnerable children and families, they selected Chosen alongside America’s Kids BelongCarePortal, Lifeline Children’s Services, and Promise 686. Chosen serves a critical need in helping children heal from abuse, neglect, abandonment, and loss.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We were all created for deep connection

Attachment theory is the basis of our model of care. Children’s brains heal from trauma by attaching to a safe, loving caregiver.

We Are Relational

Our work is not transactional but truly transformational, which requires trust. By strengthening the relationship between the child and caregiver, healing begins.

We Are Relentless

Our team does whatever it takes to ensure children are on a path of healing. We equip families with the tools they need and walk beside them on their journeys.

We Are Restorative

Our service restores hope and connections in families. Healthy families shape healthy communities.

HOW DID CHOSEN BECOME A PARTNER?

Our Model of Care Addresses The Whole Family

For Others selected Chosen as one of its five partners because our best-in-class model effectively treats childhood trauma and keeps families together. Governor Ron DeSantis invited Chosen and the other partners to be part of his faith-based My Florida My Family initiative to care for the most vulnerable.

This partnership will allow Chosen to deliver transformational services to foster, adoptive, kinship caregiver, and biological families who have been safely reunified with their children throughout the state of Florida. You can read more about the launch of this special partnership in our press release.

Chosen is relentlessly committed to doing whatever it takes to set children on a path of healing. This is accomplished through proven and effective parent coaching, therapeutic services, and personalized case management to address behavioral and mental health needs in the home.

Five Partners One Program

America’s Kids Belong has valuable “foster care faith resources,”  including videos, ministry tools, and sermons to help engage a faith community in RESEARCHING their local foster care community, RETAINING great foster parents and RECRUITING more foster and adoptive families. Whether churches are just getting started or have a long history of foster care ministry, AKB’s framework and easy-to-use tools can bring clarity and momentum. The lifeblood of AKB’s work is creating and sharing videos of children in the child welfare system. The videos are emotive and effective, but they also provide a chance to build a trusting relationship with child welfare workers, the church, and other community organizations. The ultimate goal of AKB is more than enough families fostering, adopting, and supporting kids and families.

CarePortal is an online platform that makes you aware of the needs of hurting children and families in your community. Caseworkers uncover the needs, and CarePortal makes local churches and community members aware–giving them a real-time opportunity to respond. Your responses could help achieve goals like: preventing a child from entering foster care, making an adoptive placement, or supporting a youth aging out of foster care.

Chosen Care, Inc. provides mental and behavioral help for children and families who have been impacted by abuse, neglect, abandonment, and loss. Chosen’s Gospel-centered discipleship approach is backed by science and provides healing to hurting children by strengthening their families. Trained staff provides parent coaching and therapeutic services for struggling foster, adoptive and kinship caregivers who are in your church and community.

Lifeline Children’s Services presents Families Count, a six-week parenting class and mentoring program offered through local churches to assist parents who are working to achieve permanency within their families. It is a Christ-centered, holistic ministry of the Church that focuses on family restoration and preservation by supporting parents who are at-risk for having their children removed from their homes and placed into foster care, and parents who have lost custody of their children and are working toward reunification. This church-led process assists participants in developing a network of support that can continue beyond the six weeks of classes while putting protective factors into place and fostering personal growth and development.

Promise686 guides churches through a simple step-by–step process to establish Family Advocacy Ministries (FAMs). Churches are full of people who want to make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children, but lack a clear and lasting plan. Promise686 empowers churches to effectively share the problems at-risk children are experiencing; recruit leaders, families, and volunteers to step up; and provide programs for preventing children from entering foster care, intervening when children do enter the foster care system, and ultimately connecting children to families forever.
