Graphic Design Internship

The Graphic Design Intern is responsible for working with our communication designer and Mission Advancement Team. Must be interested (passionate, preferably) in our mission to better the lives of vulnerable children.

The Mission Advancement/Development Intern will be provided the opportunity to gain experience and familiarity with areas such as fundraising, philanthropy, advocacy, and the day-to-day operations of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This position requires organizational skills, initiative, ability to prioritize, and multitask.

Successful candidates will come to the role with a strong background in graphic arts
1-2 years experience in the graphic design field
Degree track and/or significant coursework in graphic/communication design
Excellent Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, and Illustrator skills
Knowledge and expertise in typography & layouts
Prior experience creating graphics and a solid grasp of design concepts

  • Creating graphics for blog and social media
  • Editing and creating elements for our website
  • Design for print
  • Collaboration with Mission Advancement Team to solve communication issues and develop content
  • Miscellaneous design needs including support for our brand standards guide


Because this is a volunteer position, we will work with you on project and time commitment parameters that work for both of us and ensure that you have several portfolio pieces to use going forward. Central Texas residence is a plus, but this position is also open to remote work for the right candidate.
